  1. Elizabeth, as a special education teacher, this is an are that is dear to me as I am always sharing what I have learned with colleagues theough my research. the organizations chosen are wonderful in providing you with all the necessary material, links, and data needed to help all students learn at their own pace and in ways that are most appropriate for them, as opposed to cookie cutter learning styles. Expanding your professional development in taking special education classes will definitely enhance your knowledge while providing you the necessary tools for the children in which you are serving. Thanks for concentrating on this area!

Keep up the continued professional development and look at your local university for classes on special education especially those related to birth to 3 and birth to 8 program. Best of luck on your capstone.

  3. Working in Special Education is a wonderful thing when you have the disposition to daily meet the challenge of each child's special need. I didn't take many Spec.Ed. classes and I wish I had. I have 2 grandsons with special needs, one has Aspergers Syndrome and the other a learning disability. I was able to identify that their development was not on target but I couldn't help past that. I am so grateful to the teachers who were able to help them blossom and succeed.
