Quote By Lilian Katz

"Each of us must come to care about everyone else's children. We must recognize that the welfare of our children is intimately linked to the welfare of all other people's children. After all, when one of our children needs life-saving surgery, someone else's child will perform it. If one of our children is harmed by violence, someone else's child will be responsible for the violent act. The good life for our own children can be secured only if a good life is also secured for all other people's children."

  1. As teachers, child care providers, program developers and overall educational professionals we do have to treat each child as if they were our own. We want the best for our own children as do the parents of all the children whose lives we touch. Lilian Katz's quote is so true. I do not feel most educational professionals follow this quote. I know I try to do my best by every child. It's one thing to 'screw up' your own child, but entirely different to 'screw up' somebody else's child. Sometimes we are the only chance a child has.
